Converge Initiative

An Editorial, Interview and Video Exploration of Diversity in Pittsburgh’s Technology Sector

TEQ Magazine Editorial Series | Conversations on TechVibe Radio | Profile Videos on YouTube

As an urban core, Pittsburgh wrestles with its image amid the myriad of communication overshadowing the underbelly that has bred successes in tech. The PTC’s Converge content series reflects the shift from heavy industry to tech, as we shift our focus to address the next required conversations to develop our vitality and prosperity. With three decades representing the region’s tech sector, Pittsburgh Technology Council (PTC) is privileged to understand these required conversations, which must include people who reflect the emerging diversity of our country to ensure that parallel transformations abound. Converge will convene members and constituents of our community for honest and intimate discussions.

Converge describes the awakening to alter the common (and often ubiquitous) foundation to jolt a series of new perspectives. It is through these conversations that we will make our region more vital to a global economy.

Pittsburgh is our backdrop, and Converge is where we share our perspectives on wide topics of diversity - all with the goal of strengthening the region.

Converge Square

Our call to action is to motivate an inclusive innovation sector. From celebrating accomplishments to tackling impediments to understanding national and international migration experiences, Converge will bridge these experiences to ensure a stronger region. Conversations lead to action, which leads to measurement.

In the pages of TEQ and on the airwaves of TechVibe Radio, Converge will profile business leaders, entrepreneurs, technologists, students, creatives and knowledge workers with diverse backgrounds/abilities who are finding success, as well as exploring the eradication of barriers. Converge will provide collective platforms for regional leaders to provide thought leadership, analysis and data pertaining to our region’s diversity.
