For every MasterCard® “Gift Card for a Cause” purchased, two percent of the load value of the card will go to the American Cancer Society. Customers will also have the option to donate an additional three dollars per card to the American Cancer Society and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, resulting in two gifts—the gift card for the intended recipient plus the donation to this worthy cause.

Customers can choose “Gift Card for a Cause” designs that include holiday, birthday or other inspirational images and either the American Cancer Society or Relay For Life logo. Alternatively, they can upload personal photos from their computer, camera roll, Facebook account or Instagram account. Available in any amount between $20 and $500, these cards can be ordered with matching greeting cards for a couple of extra dollars as well. Since all orders are processed via the company’s in-house print-on-demand facility, “Card for a Cause” gift cards are typically shipped within 24 hours of payment verification.

“During this season of giving, we know that people want to do more, but are often pressed for time. We are grateful for the opportunity to make it possible for our customers to make a contribution and join the fight against cancer, a disease affecting far too many people, while buying the gift cards they are already planning to buy for the holidays,” said Jason Wolfe, CEO of GiftCards.com. He adds, “Making it easy for people to give to the American Cancer Society is worth the effort it took to get this program in place during what is understandably our busiest time of the year. Since this partnership will run for at least a year, I’m hopeful that the individual contributions plus the load value percentage donated will collectively make a big difference.”

“The American Cancer Society is proud to be working with two industry leaders, GiftCards.com and MasterCard, to enable consumers to support the fight against cancer and “give twice” this holiday season,” said Daniela Campari, senior vice president, integrated marketing, American Cancer Society. “The funds raised through “Gift Card for a Cause” will enable the American Cancer Society to further our mission to help the most people, end the most suffering, and save the most lives from cancer.”
