Platypus Looks to Share New Work Space

Article Published: July 22, 2014

The autonomous aquatic robotics company Platypus is ready to move into some squeaky clean new space and is looking for a couple tenants to share the space.

The workspace is located at 2010 Smallman St. in the Strip District.  The total area is approximately 4,660-sqft, split evenly across a first floor and basement. The first floor is finished space with mezzanine and will be used for offices while the basement is unfinished space, perfect for construction and engineering work.  There is also a second 2000-sqft basement next door that Platypus will be able to rent if it chooses to expand in the future. The space will be available in the coming weeks.

Three companies are currently committed to the space. Two spinouts from CMU (from the robotics and engineering departments) and an established robotics company with a head office in Washington, DC. The available space should comfortably fit six companies, possibly more depending on individual requirements.
