Dear Technology Community,
On behalf of the Pittsburgh Technology Council (PTC) and our Board of Directors, we offer our deepest condolences to the victims of the horrifying hate crime at the Tree of Life during Shabbat services on Saturday. This was an attack not just on one synagogue, but on everything we hold dear. Hatred has no place in our city or our country.
Pittsburgh was built by immigrants who came here to work in our steel industry. Today, immigrants come to our city because we are building a new economy. Our city has always welcomed immigrants and people of all religions. That has been, and continues to be, our strength.
Our Pittsburgh technology community benefits from people from all over the world. Their new ideas and unique perspectives enable us to create new products and services and to change our city, and the world, for the better.
If you want to help the victims and families directly, please get in touch with us, and we will link you to the website hosted by the Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh.
We also welcome your ideas on how we, at the PTC, can help ensure that our Pittsburgh technology community reflects and lives our core values of diversity and inclusiveness.
With heavy hearts,
Audrey Russo, President and CEO, Pittsburgh Technology Council
Jason Wolfe, Board Chair, Pittsburgh Technology Council; CEO, Wolfe LLC
