We are pleased to present a very special edition of Explore the Floor. We’ll spend a day in Johnstown visiting three manufacturers for benchmarking, networking, and learning.

Explore the Floor connects our region’s manufacturers. Not only does it serve as a benchmarking exercise, but also provides business development opportunities among our member companies. It aims to show off the innovative and unique capabilities of our region’s manufacturing firms.

Visits:
Lockheed Martin
Lockheed Martin's facility in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, specializes in manufacturing components for several military aircraft, notably the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The plant produces parts such as aft engine access covers, engine access doors, F-1 fuel tanks, and inlets. These components are shipped to Greenville, South Carolina, for final assembly and integration into the F-16s on the production line.
Martin Baker
Established in 2000, Martin-Baker America, Inc. (MBAI) became licensed in Johnstown, PA by Martin-Baker Aircraft to manufacture, sell, and maintain ejection and crashworthy seat products within the United States and Canada. MBAI has delivered over 30,000 crashworthy seats to support CH-53E, UH/HH-60M, MH-47G, P-8, and various other rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
They also produce ejection seat components and assemblies for T-38, T-6, F-18, and F-35 aircraft. MBAI performs maintenance and overhaul services, including parachute packing, for many of those ejection seats in service today. Additionally, MBAI provides spare component support for these seats within the North American market.
Compass Systems
Founded in 1997, Compass Systems, Inc. is a small business defense contractor providing high-quality services and products to the Department of Defense and commercial industry. Their core capabilities are unmanned systems, air vehicle engineering, contract manufacturing and R&D. Their industry partners include BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Leonardo DRS, Verge Aero, Hurley IR, and Ghost Robotics Technology.

All visitors must be registered in the Lockheed Martin Visitor Management System by their Lockheed Martin escort prior to the visit. A typed list with each visitor’s full name and country of birth must be provided by the visiting organization. Photo identification must be presented to security at time of arrival.
Business-related visits by non-U.S. Citizens will have limited access to program and production areas. Foreign National visitors must be in VMS at least 5 days in advance of visit. Approved Foreign National visitors must present passport at entry.
