PeopleOne Health Transforms Healthcare for Individuals and Businesses

Jonathan Kersting

With a focus on personalized care, transparent pricing and enhanced accessibility, PeopleOne Health is reshaping the healthcare experience, and wants to set a new standard for quality and affordability.

PeopleOne Health is addressing a national landscape where healthcare accounts for $4.5 trillion a year in costs, 20% of the U.S. GDP and is an employer’s second-biggest expense, said PeopleOne CEO Jordan Taradash. Despite that significant expense, he said 40% of people in the United States are avoiding or delaying care, because they can't afford copays, deductibles or coinsurance.

Taradash said PeopleOne Health changes healthcare delivery to remove administrative waste and safeguard highly personalized doctor-patient relationships.

“It combines enhanced primary care, lifestyle coaching, pharmacy consultation and additional support to meet the majority of Americans' typical healthcare needs all for a single monthly fee and no out-of-pocket cost,” he said.

Taradash started his journey to improve access to healthcare back in 2012 with a company looking to prevent diabetes through employer-based health coaching and technology. He merged the company in 2019 with Sparkpeople.com to expand to broader consumer-facing digital engagement technology.

“And then that's where the math really clicked that we need to figure out how to incorporate primary care and clinical care. Because if we do that, it actually provides us with the financial and timing runway to truly get to disease prevention,” said Taradash. “So that's when we met our other co-founders, Dr. Zane Gates, Val Mignon and Pat Riley of Empower3Center for Health. And they had created this next-generation, advanced primary care platform that is incentivized to keep people healthy not to just drive more services and care.”

Personalized and Consistent Care

Unlike traditional healthcare models, where providers are often inundated with patient volumes, PeopleOne Health’s approach prioritizes quality over quantity. Here, the emphasis is placed on fostering enduring relationships by ensuring that patients see the same provider at every visit. This deliberate continuity not only facilitates a deeper understanding of individual health needs but also enables the providers to dedicate ample time to each patient, resulting in improved care outcomes and custom care plans, according to Taradash.

Transparent and Predictable Pricing

In a backdrop where healthcare expenses can often be shrouded in uncertainty, PeopleOne Health introduces change through its simple and transparent pricing model. By offering set membership fees for primary care and additional services, it removes the ambiguity associated with copays, deductibles and coinsurance. Taradash noted an approximately 25% savings for organizations and substantial out-of-pocket savings for members, paving the way for a more predictable and manageable healthcare expenditure.

Democratizing Access to Healthcare

Navigating the intricacies of healthcare can be an overwhelming experience, but PeopleOne Health simplifies this journey. Whether for employers seeking to provide comprehensive healthcare for their teams or individuals seeking personal care, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a seamless and understandable healthcare process. By focusing on clarity and convenience, PeopleOne Health extends a welcoming hand to all, aiming to democratize access to the highest quality healthcare services.

Looking to the Future

PeopleOne Health typically works with large employers that are self-insured to provide preventative care, pharmaceuticals, imaging, testing and behavioral services.

“95% of employers with 200 or more employees are self-insured,” said Taradash. “And with innovations in the market and ever-increasing costs, employers down to 50 are now becoming self-insured on a pretty regular basis.”

PeopleOne has five care locations in western Pennsylvania with five more locations in Florida coming online this year.  Revolutionizing the current healthcare system is a daunting task. PeopleOne Health is making some serious strides to improve it and the quality of people’s lives.
