Founded in 1996, Target Office Products has been providing office supplies to businesses for nearly three decades. What started as a small, family-run business has evolved into a second-generation, women-owned enterprise, now led by sister and brother Michelle Rozzi and Joseph Kail. Over the years, they’ve upheld the values of family, dedication, and adaptability—pillars that continue to drive their success in an industry constantly facing change.
What sets Target apart is its deep-rooted commitment to its team and clients. “Our employees are family,” says Michelle. With most of the staff having been with the company for over 15 years, Target's workplace culture is built on trust, longevity, and mutual respect. As Michelle recalls, “We’ve seen our team members through marriages, kids, and even grandkids.” This tight-knit dynamic isn't just an internal benefit; it extends to the client relationships they have fostered for years, providing a personalized service that’s hard to find with larger competitors.
Target is more than just a supplier of pens, paper, and office furniture; they are a one-stop shop for businesses’ operational needs. From breakroom supplies to promotional items, they offer a diverse range of products—anything a business might require, aside from technology hardware. One of their fastest-growing sectors has been janitorial supplies, reflecting the increased demand in office hygiene post-pandemic.
Speaking of the pandemic, like many businesses, Target faced the challenge of adapting to a new normal. As offices shut down, demand for office supplies declined sharply. However, Michelle and Joseph pivoted quickly, focusing on at-home office needs and essential items like cleaning supplies. Their resilience during such a turbulent time highlights their ability to stay relevant and valuable, regardless of market shifts.
Beyond the products they sell, Target is an integral part of Pittsburgh’s business community. Long-time members of the Pittsburgh Technology Council, they value the partnerships and support they’ve cultivated, especially as part of initiatives promoting women in business. "Attending events like the Athena Awards has been inspiring," says Michelle. "It’s amazing to be part of a community that uplifts and empowers women, not just in business but across the entire city."
As they look toward the future, Michelle and Joseph see opportunity in the changing dynamics of workspaces—whether at home or in the office. They remain committed to serving the needs of businesses as they continue to evolve, ensuring that no matter where work happens, Target Office Products will be there to support it.
